Itinerary

Day 1                     
GUWAHATI – JAIGAON (250 km / 7 hours)

Your journey begins from Guwahati. You will be transferred to Jaigoan. Over night in Jaigaon.

Day 2                     
JAIGAON - PHUENTSHOLING – THIMPHU. (220 KM, 7 HOURS)

Morning we will make arrangements for your  Permit to Bhutan. Departure to Bhutan in the afternoon. Arrival at Thimpu in the evening. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 3                     
THIMPHU

Enjoy your day in the modern capital town of Bhutan. Moring visit National Library, Arts & Crafts School, Textile & Folk Heritage Museum.  Afternoon visit to Anim Dratshang (nunnery), Handmade paper factory, Thimphu view point, Handicrafts Emporium and Memorial Chorten. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 4                     
THIMPU – PARO (70 km, 2 hours)

Morning drive to Dochula pass (3,080m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan. Later drive to Paro en route visiting Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom which now houses the school for religious and cultural studies. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 5                     
PARO

Visit Drukgyel Dzong (dzong = fortress/monastery), the ruined fortress from where Bhutanese repelled several invasion by Tibetan armies. On a clear day, there is splendid view of Mt. Chomolhari from the approach road to this Dzong. Later visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, the fortress which has a long and fascinating history. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 6                     
PARO – PHUENTSHOLING (230 km, 7 hours)

Morning free for leisure. Transfer to Phuentsholing for overnight stay. 4 km before Phuentsholing, visit Kharbandi Gompa, beautiful monastery situated in garden of tropical plants and flowers. Overnight in Hotel.

Itinerary

Day 01            
Arrive Phuentsholing.

On Arrival receive at NJP railway station/ Bagdogra. Transfer to Phuentsholing. On arrival in Phuentsholing, meet local representative followed by check-in and installation. Evening, as the time permits take a stroll around Phuentsholing market. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 02            
Phuentsholing – Thimphu. (180 km, 6 hours)

Morning proceed to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan. 4 km ahead of Phuentsholing, visit Kharbandi Gompa, beautiful monastery situated in garden of tropical plants and flowers. Nearby Thimphu, visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom which now houses the School for religious and cultural studies. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 03            
Thimphu Sightseeing.    - Paro. (55km  , 1 1/2 hours)

Day 04

Day 01            
Arrive Paro

Meeting & assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel in Thimphu (55 km, 2 hours). Overnight in  Hotel.

Day 02            
Thimphu Halt and Sightseeing

Today’s sightseeing includes visit to Anim Dratshang (nunnery), Handmade paper factory, Thimphu view point, Handicrafts Emporium and Memorial Chorten. Also visit National Library, Arts & Crafts School, Textile & Folk Heritage Museum. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 03            
Thimphu – Punakha


After an early breakfast, drive to Punakha. On the way, halt at Dochula Pass 3150mts. (26kms) for a hot cup of tea/coffee and to enjoy the most spectacular view of the Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. (possible on a clear day). Punakha was the former capital of Bhutan. The Punakha Dzong lies between two rivers known as Phochu and Mochu which means “Male River and Female river “. It is one of the most important Dzongs in Bhutan and now houses the District Administration office of the Punakha district and the winter residence of the Monk Body and its Chief Abbot. It was built in 1637 A.D. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 04            
Punakha – Paro

Morning drive to Paro ( 150 Km, 5 Hours ).  Overnight in Hotel. Rest free for own activities.

Day 05
